In 1930 my step-grandfather, Isaac “Ike” Rose began Rose’s Coffee Co. in St. Louis. My father, Joseph Charleville grew up with and eventually took over Rose’s until 1977 when he sold it to a competitor. A few years later, my dad put his expertise and passion for coffee into a new company Chauvin Coffee Co., which he opened in 1984 along with my late brother, Dave. That same year it became clear to me that I was destined to have my own place in the St. Louis coffee industry – so I built Thomas Coffee Co., which I ran for 25 years. I now am proud to introduce Clipper Coffee. A new coffee that roots from over 100 years and 3 generations of family owned and operated coffee companies – all based in St. Louis, Missouri.
