From its beginning as a small downtown grocery store in 1932, Alewel’s Country Meats has grown into a fixture of the Warrensburg local community. A federally inspected meat processing and retail facility, the company was even awarded the 2017 Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce – Business of the Year. When Hugo Alewel started the business 85 years ago, he developed his sausage from old German recipes that had been passed down for years.
